The Best Vintage Dresses To Have Ever Graced The Golden Globes Red Carpet
Awards season will soon be upon us, with the Golden Globes kicking off proceedings on 5 January. And if recent years are anything to go by, we can expect plenty of vintage on the red carpet – just think of Elle Fanning’s 1960s Balmain gown at last year’s ceremony, or Kylie Jenner’s rare ’90s lace gown by Japanese designer Hanae Mori.
But while archival looks have surged in popularity of late, some A-listers have long championed vintage at the Globes. Take Chloë Sevigny, who wore a printed YSL gown at the star-studded event in 2007, or Renée Zellweger, who opted for an emerald-green cocktail dress from the Dior archives that same year. Meanwhile, back in 2000, Mr Valentino decided to revisit his own archive in order to dress a young Reese Witherspoon in a strapless black gown for the awards ceremony – proving that vintage dressing on the red carpet isn’t such a new thing, after all.
Below, take a look back at the best vintage gowns to have ever graced the Golden Globes red carpet.
