2025 is symbolic for a. hartrodt hungary: The figures represent 20 years of service by Managing Director Zoltán Peternics and the 25th anniversary of the national subsidiary. All 27 employees celebrated the double anniversary in the legendary Gundel restaurant in Budapest. Its high-quality Hungarian cuisine is known for its fusion of tradition and innovation – precisely the ingredients that also make a. hartrodt distinctive. As a gift to his team, Zoltán Peternics recited his own poem, paying tribute to each person individually: "I am very happy to be a leader of a great team, the success of our business is based on their performance."
More orders despite difficult conditions
The Managing Director points out the positive development under difficult conditions: Even in 2025, there is still no economic growth in Hungary, "yet we were able to increase our order numbers by 27 percent in the first five months." He is particularly proud that a. hartrodt hungary has been working with many customers for 20 years: "Not only with the same companies, but also with the same people on both sides."
"80 percent ocean freight business – without coastline"
A milestone for a. hartrodt hungary was the first regular, direct import groupage container service from the Hong Kong sea freight hub to Budapest in 2002. Initiated by the former Managing Director in Hungary, Juergen Kirrbach, the service was expanded from Shanghai, Ningbo and Shenzen in 2005. "Almost 80 percent of our turnover comes from the ocean freight business – without having any coastline," emphasizes Zoltán Peternics. In 2018, a department for European road transportation was added, where nine employees produce "around 600 orders per month". In 2020, when he took the helm, the "rail service product on the New Silk Road from China to Hungary" was launched.
Zoltán Peternics has had "a lot of fun and success" at a. hartrodt right from the beginning. The sales-oriented manager prefers to deal with business opportunities for different modes of transport. To keep the company on the right track of positive developments, the focus has always been on the well-being of employees.
