“I would wear every single thing I saw on the runway today with pleasure,” Sienna Miller enthuses over the phone of Chemena Kamali’s sophomore collection for Chloé, while stuck in Paris traffic post show. “It was breathtakingly beautiful. I imagine it must have been a huge amount of pressure, after the reception of the first show, to imagine how you surpass that. And she did for me in every single way.”

The actor and OG boho girl got a sneak peek of the spring/summer 2025 collection a day before, when she went for a fitting at the Chloé atelier. “Chemena was pulling things from the [new collection], which was incredible – I’ve never had that experience,” Miller says. The outfit they eventually settled upon comprised a blue puff-sleeve jacket, dusty-pink trousers and an update on last season’s viral wedges, reflecting the actor’s love of the pastel colours that ran throughout the collection. “If I was left to my own devices, I’d look like a macaron shop,” she jokes.

As well as the languid tailoring and saccharine palette, Miller was also particularly drawn to the lace slip dresses and vintage-inspired bloomers. “Any form of French antique underwear is my dream summer wardrobe,” continues the actor, who coincidentally bought a pair of ’70s bloomers and a matching top from Portobello Road Market only last week. “I’m going to send a picture to Chemena, because they belonged on that runway!”

Miller loved the worn-in feel of the designer’s latest offering – revealing her own, rather unusual, technique to achieve the same effect. “I sometimes leave [my clothes] outside for winter, and then by the time it’s summer, they’re kind of aged and bleached and damaged in a way that I like,” she explains.

Of course, the style muse – who was single-handedly responsible for why everyone was wearing tiered maxi skirts, coin belts and gladiator sandals during the Noughties – has plenty of actual vintage in her wardrobe, although these days, she’s toned it down slightly. “I think that my styling back then was a little bit nuts,” she recalls. “I would wear a dress as a skirt, a dress over a pair of jeans with a boot… it was a lot.”

Although the trend became “a bit gimmicky at one point”, in Miller’s words, the actor says that she’s glad that boho is now back in fashion. “It’s more about an essence and a spirit; it’s levity and it’s freedom,” she describes. “It embodies a certain type of woman that embraces femininity, but there’s also a power in it. I think that’s always been my style.”

Luckily for her two daughters, she’s held onto many of her original boho pieces – with her eldest, Marlowe, already borrowing from her wardrobe. “She’s heavily into fashion, [and] naturally incredibly stylish,” the mother-of-two notes. “We steal each other’s clothes, skincare products – we’re at that point.”

With the Chloé show done and dusted, Miller – who’s brought her nine-month-old with her – has some time to enjoy her favourite Parisian hotspots, including Café de Flore and Le Voltaire, and perhaps a spot of vintage shopping, if the rain lets up. “There’s very little that makes me happier than pottering through antique markets and clothing shops,” she says. One imagines that more bloomers will be at the very top of her wishlist.
