a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions expands in the growing warehousing market

Lars Brinkmann wants to realize further logistics projects together with customers in Germany.

With its warehouse logistics division, a. hartrodt Germany is embarking on a new growth path. Until now, the medium-sized freight forwarding company has cooperated with a subcontractor in the important domestic market. "We want to put the warehousing business on its own feet," says Lars Brinkmann, Managing Director of a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions in Hamburg. His goal is "to realize logistics projects together with customers throughout Germany in the medium term". The 51-year-old has worked in the freight forwarding sector since his apprenticeship and has specialized for three decades in rebuilding, optimizing and restructuring warehouses.

Subsidiary operates warehouse near the Port of Hamburg

Since January 1, 2023, Lars Brinkmann has been managing a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions with currently six people. From the outset, he has pursued the goal of expanding the independent company with its own warehouses. For one and a half years, the business graduate was also Interim Managing Director of a wholly owned subsidiary of a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions with its own 1,500 square meter transshipment warehouse for import customs clearance near the Port of Hamburg.

Own warehouse for export consolidations near Frankfurt Airport

The strategy for a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions is to move to its own warehouse not far from Frankfurt Airport with existing customers this quarter. According to Lars Brinkmann, the service focus is on export consolidations: "We collect cargo from various suppliers of our customers and their production facilities. We mainly send them as airfreight, but also by parcel service." The new location will also manage the distribution of import shipments from Asia to northern Germany. Whether airfreight, sea freight or warehousing – "customers get solutions from a one-stop shop," emphasizes Lars Brinkmann. Thanks to flat hierarchies and an international network, the family business can also fulfill special requests.

Lars Brinkmann has ambitious plans for the future. According to him, the next step could be to start planning a. hartrodt (DE) Solutions' own warehouse locations in the Ruhr region and in southern Germany. The potential for own warehouse logistics is also being examined and planned at other central hubs.
